At the start of Season 3 of the superhero series, Jefferson (Cress Williams) and Lynn (Christine Adams) are detained by the ASA, while new vigilante Blackbird, later revealed to be Anissa (Nafessa Williams), is spotted in town. Meanwhile, Agent Odell (Bill Duke) manages to keep control over occupied Freeland, while the heroes figure out how to approach the problem. As the season progresses, Jefferson is torn between protecting Freeland or saving his family, while Jennifer (China Anne McClain) seems to be swayed by a deal offered by Agent Odell. Everybody's sense of duty eventually prevails, and the heroes realize they need to work together if they want to save the city.
